Over twenty years ago, I discovered and re-typed my great Aunt Sadie's memoirs - 32 pages of onion skin paper. Sadie passed away years before I was born, but I know her through those pages. Her words created a time capsule and inspired me on a lifelong journey to learn about my family, who I am and where I fit in now. When I started doing genealogy research, she was one of the first ancestors I studied. Sadie intentionally created her story, but most of us don't. While our lives might seem quite ordinary, shouldn't we leave a legacy to help that unborn great grandchild find pieces of themselves from their history? No one is ordinary and every story is unique.
