Nearly thirty years ago I discovered and re-typed Aunt Sadie’s memoirs. Thirty two pages about her life typed on onion skin paper. Sadie passed away years before I was born, but I was able to know her through those pages. She created a time capsule that inspired me and others. I’ve learned about my family, who I am, and how I fit in. Or more appropriately, that it’s OK that I don’t always fit in. Sadie intentionally created her story but most of us don’t. While you might believe your life is quite ordinary, consider that your story might help that unborn great grandchild find pieces of themselves through your stories. No one is ordinary. Everyone has a story. Sadie gave an amazing gift. Let me, a personal historian, help you create your own time capsule and Share That Story.
